The Bench

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my little space, where I have been sharing snippets of my life for the past few years!  I haven't been active on here in awhile and I sometimes overwhelm myself by trying to either blog more or work harder on the store all while balancing my love of house projects and real life.  Today I was out in the yard with our puppy, Dexter, and I decided to cut some ferns and put them in the house.  I thought about putting them in a sweet white galvanized basket I bought recently for ONE DOLLAR, but I changed my mind after seeing them in this basket I just grabbed to hold the ferns while I cut them (and maybe so I could take a pretty picture of me picking them for the basket).  I decided the ferns looked too good in the basket, so I styled them on my new kitchen bench.  This is not how I plan to keep the bench, but until I paint it white, I thought this was a really cute way to style it in the interim!

Alfaro Abode: Christmas Edition 2016

Hello Everyone!

Christmas is weeks away and I am so excited to share with you my decorated home!  I am passionate about home decor in general, but something about going through all of these decorations you adore once a year is really special to me.  This is the second Christmas in our home, and since we have lived here now for over a year it definitely feels much more like home this holiday season.  I have spent the last week holed up in our house every chance I could get and spreading Christmas cheer all over the house!  November was a very crazy month for me with work, so this was such a great way to unwind and get my creative juices flowing again!  Without further ado, I would like to share with you a tour of our home decorated for Christmas :)

I hope you all enjoyed a peak into our home for this Christmas season! I would love to see your decorations :)

Welcome to our Garden: Part 2

Hello Everyone!

Thank you for your patience while I took a step back and practiced the Marie Kondo method in my own life and home! Wow what an amazing process this has been cleaning out our home of useless crap!! I plan to do a full review of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up this Friday, so stay tuned!!

Sticking with out "Home" Monday theme, I wanted to FINALLY share with you our completed garden! I say completed, but is a garden ever done?! I know I will continue to add plants and decor through the summer and years, but I am so pleased with how it has turned out this far!!

A few weeks ago, my mother-in-law and I took a trip to a garden store and we bought various plants and flowers to plant.  We ended up having terrible weather for a few weeks, so our planting day kept being pushed back.  This past week we were able to spend the afternoon planting, and I am so pleased with all of our hard work!

All of the items in the garden were found at various thrift, antique, and hardware stores along with my mom and mother-in-law.  The trellis was purchased last year from Home Goods and we were married underneath it.  It is such a special piece for me, so I am so glad it is able to be showcased so beautifully!

Let me know what is your favorite part about your garden?
